"Retail stores offering many products can make life easier for their customers by having a catalog printed, to inform the latter what they have in stock. A catalog with a unique appearance and clear details may even attract customers visually, prompting them to look up a product that’s beautifully illustrated in a catalog. Some people may question the rationale of having a printed catalog when it’s supposedly simpler to just browse an online store and pick the items you like. Improvements, an online product retailer, however, discovered that its printed catalogs sent by mail seemed to have a direct influence on its website traffic and online orders. It told Forbes contributing writer Lois Geller that the company notices a spike in online activity when the catalogs are delivered.
